Seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pathologist for a 3–6 month locum tenens assignment in a busy hospital-based laboratory in Syracuse, NY 13203. This is a high-quality, structured pathology environment offering no call responsibilities and a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
The practice handles approximately 13,000 surgical pathology specimens and 3,000 cytology cases annually, providing a diverse and engaging case mix. Ideal for pathologists seeking impactful short-term work in a well-supported hospital laboratory setting.Job Responsibilities
• Conduct frozen section analysis using cryostat systems
• Interpret and manage cytology cases including GYN cytology
• Gross own specimens
• Document cases using EPIC/Beaker EMR
• Collaborate with pathology team, histotechnologists, cytotechnologists, and pathology assistants
• Participate in quality and compliance standards (CLIA & NYS regulations)
Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pathology
• Experience in hospital-based pathology labs preferred
• Proficiency in frozen sections and cytology
• Cytology Proficiency Exam required for GYN cytology
• Eligible for New York medical licensure
• Credentialing timeframe: approximately 40–45 days
