This is a well-established medical center that serves as a major healthcare provider in the Puget Sound region. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center with a Level 2 pediatric designation, offering comprehensive pathology services across multiple sites in the Tacoma/Puget Sound area.
Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Pathology - Anatomic and Clinical
Job Details:
• Contract length minimum until May 1, 2026 with potential extension or permanent placement • Seeking 4 pathologists across 3 sites in the Tacoma/Puget Sound area • One role requires hemepath certification and one requires Bone Marrow sign outs • Medical Director responsibilities may be considered if coverage extension is long enough • In-office professional sign outs with no digital case load • Board certification required with clean history potentially qualifying for expedited privileges • Must be licensed in Washington state • Credentialing timeframe approximately 60-120 days • Required skills include Surgical Pathology, Cytology (GYN and Non-GYN) • Preferred skills include GI pathology, GU Pathology, Neuropathology, Hematopathology • Additional preferred skills: bone marrow procedures and interpretation, pediatric tumor pathology, autopsy (non-forensic), grossing/cutting frozen sections, hematology, microbiology, and chemistry/serology • No requirements for dermatopathology, performance of FNAs, forensic autopsy, or blood bank services
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
