Facility: A nonprofit hospital known for its comprehensive medical services, including emergency care, surgical services, and various specialty programs. The facility focuses on community health and offers various wellness programs.

Opportunity:
  • Looking for a Locum Pathologist starting as soon as credentialed!
  • Practice Setting: Hospital-Based Pathology Lab
  • Dates of Coverage: ASAP – March 2025
  • Call Schedule: Rotating evening, weekend, and holiday coverage between 5 Pathologists
  • Call Ratio: 1:5
  • What Types of Certification Does Your Laboratory Hold?: CLIA, CAP, AABB, TJC
  • Approx. Number of Cases Read Per Day: 25-30
  • What Will Be the Locum Tenen Physician’s Responsibility for the Clinical Lab?: Electrophoresis Pathology interpretation and Hematology Differential Review
  • How Many Physicians in the Group? 5
  • How Many Histotechnologists? 4
  • How Many Pathology Assistants? 1
  • How Many Cytotechnologists? 2
  • Will the Locum Tenens Physician be Required to Supervise Other Healthcare Providers? Yes
  • Will Other Pathologists Be Present During the Locum's Coverage? Yes
  • Describe Equipment (Specialized Equipment, etc.): Leica ASP300S processors
  • Type of Cryostat: Leica CM1800
  • Type of Microscope: Olympus
  • Cytology Proficiency Exam Required for GYN Cytolology? Yes
  • Method of Preparation? Cytospin
  • Documentation System/EMR: EPIC
  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: ASAP
  • Provider Must be Local - Only Mileage is Reimbursed (Mileage Billed at the IRS Standard Rate)

  • Surgical Pathology
  • GI Pathology
  • GU Pathology
  • Neuropathology
  • Hematopathology (Bone Marrow, Lymph Nodes)
  • Interpretation of Bone Marrow Aspirate/bx
  • Cytology
Required Clinical Pathology Procedures:
  • Hematology
  • Microbiology
  • Chemistry/Serology
  • Blood Bank
