Permanent academic leadership opportunity for a Neuropathologist at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC. Director of Neuropathology and Endowed Chair in Molecular Neuropathology.
- 313-bed quaternary care academic pediatric hospital affiliated with George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences
- Level I trauma center with the nation's top-rated NICU, Cardiac and Pediatric Intensive Care Units
- Lead the Brain Tumor Institute's molecular neuropathology research program
- Faculty appointment at George Washington University (Associate or full Professor)
- Willing to license candidates who need a DC license
Job Responsibilities
• Expand clinical diagnostics for neurological disorders, particularly molecularly based testing
• Lead a research team and program on the molecular basis of pediatric brain tumors as Endowed Chair in Molecular Neuropathology
• Collaborate with the Division Chief, oncology leaders and the Brain Tumor Institute
Qualifications
• DC license required (candidates who need licensure considered)
• Prior successful grant funding in molecular biology, neuro-oncology and neuropathology
• Record of academic publication in brain cancer
• 2 years of experience; excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for teaching
