Children's National Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Neuropathologist (Director of Neuropathology) for a permanent academic leadership opportunity in Washington, DC.
- 313-bed quaternary care academic pediatric hospital with a Level I trauma center and top-rated NICU
- Lead neuropathological services in the Division of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
- Endowed Chair in Molecular Neuropathology leading a research program in the Brain Tumor Institute
- Academic appointment at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences
Job Responsibilities
• Support increased availability of molecularly based clinical diagnostics for neurological disorders
• As Endowed Chair in Molecular Neuropathology, lead a research team studying the molecular basis of pediatric brain tumors
• Collaborate with the Division Chief, oncology leaders and Brain Tumor Institute investigators
Qualifications
• 2 years of experience
• DC license required (candidates willing to be licensed accepted)
• Prior grant funding in molecular biology, neuro-oncology and neuropathology; academic publication record in brain cancer
• Excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for teaching and a collaborative attitude
