Aya Healthcare is seeking a Neuropathologist to serve as Director of Neuropathology and Endowed Chair in Molecular Neuropathology at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC. Permanent position; start date 12/7/2026.
- 313-bed quaternary care academic pediatric hospital and Level I trauma center
- Top-rated NICU in the nation plus Cardiac and Pediatric Intensive Care Units
- Academic appointment recommended at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences
- Lead a research program in the Brain Tumor Institute focused on pediatric brain tumors
Job Responsibilities
• Expand clinical diagnostics for neurological disorders, particularly molecularly based testing
• As Endowed Chair in Molecular Neuropathology, lead a research team studying the molecular basis of pediatric brain tumors in the Brain Tumor Institute
Qualifications
• DC license required (will accept candidates who need to be licensed)
• Prior successful grant funding in molecular biology, neuro-oncology and neuropathology
• Record of academic publication in brain cancer
• 2 years of experience; strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for teaching
