Job description
We are seeking a Pediatric Neuropathologist for a permanent position in Washington, DC. This is an academic leadership opportunity serving as Director of Neuropathology and Endowed Chair in Molecular Neuropathology at a quaternary care academic pediatric hospital. Please see below for more information.
- 313-bed facility
- Level I Trauma Center
Job Responsibilities
• Expand availability of clinical diagnostics for neurological disorders, particularly molecularly based conditions
• Interpret pediatric neuropathology cases across the service
• Lead a research team and program studying the molecular basis of pediatric brain tumors within the institution's brain tumor program
• Participate in teaching and academic activities within an academic pediatric setting
Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neuropathology, with completed fellowship or advanced training in Neuropathology
• Active DC medical license; candidates willing to obtain licensure will be considered
• Record of successful grant funding in molecular biology, neuro-oncology, or neuropathology
• Record of academic publication in brain cancer
