The physician will evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic pain conditions while providing comprehensive care that includes clinical evaluation, diagnostic assessment, interventional procedures, treatment planning, patient education, and multidisciplinary coordination.
The ideal candidate will have experience with advanced pain procedures, strong clinical judgment, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based medicine.
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions.
Perform comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations.
Assess pain conditions, functional limitations, and underlying pathology.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.
Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust therapies when clinically appropriate.
Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, expectations, and long-term pain management strategies.
Interventional Pain Procedures
Perform minimally invasive interventional pain procedures, including:
Nerve blocks
Epidural steroid injections
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA)
Spinal injections
Image-guided pain procedures
Other appropriate interventional treatments
Additional responsibilities:
Evaluate patients for procedural candidacy.
Determine appropriate treatment interventions.
Maintain high standards of procedural safety and quality.
Follow evidence-based clinical protocols.
Diagnosis & Care Coordination
Diagnose and manage spine-related and musculoskeletal pain conditions.
Evaluate and treat:
Neck pain
Back pain
Radicular pain
Chronic pain syndromes
Neuropathic pain conditions
Order and interpret diagnostic testing and imaging studies.
Coordinate care with:
Primary care physicians
Specialists
Healthcare providers
Participate in multidisciplinary patient care discussions.
Documentation & Quality
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
Document clinical encounters, procedures, assessments, and treatment plans.
Monitor patient progress and treatment effectiveness.
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Maintain compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Participate in continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Strong clinical expertise in interventional pain management.
Ability to perform a broad range of interventional pain procedures.
Strong understanding of spine pathology and treatment options.
Experience managing:
Neck pain
Back pain
Radicular pain
Chronic pain conditions
Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a high-volume outpatient environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in:
Pain Medicine
Anesthesiology
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)
Related specialty
Completion of an accredited Pain Medicine fellowship preferred.
Background in:
Neurology
Anesthesiology
PM&R
Previous outpatient interventional pain practice experience.
Experience with functional assessment and chronic disease management.
