Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pain Management Physician to join a growing multidisciplinary care team in Indianapolis, Indiana. The physician will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions through comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatment plans. This role focuses on improving patients' quality of life through interventional procedures, medication management, and coordinated care.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and discuss medical history with patients to understand their healthcare background and pain-related conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments to diagnose acute and chronic pain conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized pain management treatment plans.
- Perform interventional pain procedures such as joint injections, nerve blocks, and epidural injections.
- Utilize medical devices and imaging equipment such as C-Arm for interventional procedures.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Prescribe medications when appropriate and manage pain pharmacology responsibly.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging as required.
- Educate patients on pain management strategies, rehabilitation, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with APRNs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient medical records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Communicate medical findings and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Stay informed on the latest advancements and best practices in pain management.
- Advocate for patients' well-being and provide compassionate care.
- Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of pain mechanisms, pain physiology, and pharmacology.
- Excellent communication and patient interaction abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and high standards of patient care.
Education & Experience Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified in Pain Management.
- Dual Board Certification in Pain Management and Anesthesiology (preferred).
- Valid and active Indiana State Medical License (or ability to obtain).
- Experience performing a wide range of interventional pain management procedures.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical medical practice and patient-centered care.
