Job description Part-Time Interventional Pain Physician – Mount Vernon, Illinois Position Overview
  • Permanent position

  • Part-time

  • Outpatient clinic

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00a–5:00p

  • No formal call schedule

    • After-hours handled via answering service with physician-to-physician consults

Training, Licensure & Board Requirements (High Priority)
  • Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible – Required

  • Fellowship Trained in Interventional Pain Medicine

    • ACGME-accredited fellowship required

  • Acceptable Primary Training:

    • Anesthesiology

    • PM&R

Practice Setting & Support
  • May work alongside:

    • Other physicians and/or APPs

    • RNs, LPNs, and MAs (varies by site)

  • All patients are chronic pain referrals

    • Not solely personal injury cases

Procedures & Clinical Expectations
  • Bread-and-butter interventional pain procedures

  • Common procedures include:

    • Medial Branch Blocks (MBB)

    • Radiofrequency Ablations (RFA)

    • Spinal cord stimulator trials

  • Open to discussing:

    • Procedures the physician does and does not perform to assess fit

  • While primarily interventional:

    • Medication management expected when clinically appropriate

Compensation & Contract Structure
  • 1099 position

  • Competitive compensation (discussed directly with client)

  • Two-year guarantee

  • After Year 2:

    • Transition to collections-based model

    • Collect 100% of professional fees minus direct expenses
