The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, Jackson, MS is seeking a full-time Physician - (GI Section Chief), board certified or board eligible, to join our expanding clinical practice. We are fully committed to providing top quality medical care by serving and honoring America’s Veterans.
Candidate must possess MD/DO from an accredited institution, have completed residency training to board certification, and possess an active, current, unrestricted license in any U.S. State or territory.
Additional requirements:

Providing patient care in the Pain Management setting in which includes clinical outpatient arena.

Work effectively with patients, families, co-workers, and other health care professionals treating them with respect and dignity.

Participates in selected committees as designated by the COS or Chief PMRS.

Provide recommendations and work the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care to provide optimal functioning, level of pain, and quality of life for Veterans.

Expected to be cooperative in manner with other members of the medical/dental staff to achieve the goal of providing necessary care.

Assists with the performance of the Pain Management programs in the areas of consultation to the pain providers through regular interdisciplinary team meetings.

Participation in Quality Management (QM) activities.

Provides services as specified in his/her clinical privileges. Services include new patient consultation, established (follow up) visits and interventional pain management procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Likely starting base salary range: $350,000.00 - $400,000.00
Malpractice: Liability protection
50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Qualifications
Understanding the scopes and constraints of these intervention strategies is crucial for optimizing patient care and advancing the field of pain management.
Providers are expected to be BLS certified
Familiar with the adheres to the Medical Staff Bylaws of this facility.
Knowledge of outpatient services in physical medicine and rehabilitation/pain management, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech, language pathology, recreational therapy, chiropractic services, massage therapy, acupuncture, and psychology.
Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or
Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
