In November 2021, SMHCS opened a new 110-bed acute-care hospital in Venice, Florida, and they also opened a brand new Cancer Institute in November 2021. The new Cancer Center Tower is a 170,000 sq ft building that includes 56 private suites for hospitalized cancer patients, nine (9) state of the art operating rooms with a dedicated robotic surgery suite and integrative care services offering patient navigation and family/caregiver support.

A Radiation Oncology Center with two linear accelerators opened in September 2020. Two Outpatient Cancer Pavilions will be built in the third phase with additional radiation oncology, surgical oncology and medical oncology capabilities to facilitate effective multidisciplinary care.

First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is a successful, multi-specialty group with a 27-year history in the Sarasota community. Highlights of the Opportunity:

  • We are seeking two Fellowship trained Head & Neck Surgeons with skills in Microvascular Surgery
  • This partnership will facilitate high value oncologic and reconstructive services in a synergistic way for the patients and physicians
  • State of the art resources and support for high-volume head and neck surgical oncology practices
  • Opportunities to develop research and educational/training programs with Cancer Center support
  • Work collaboratively with oncology leadership to develop the premier multidisciplinary head and neck cancer center in the region.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD or DO from an accredited school of medicine
  • Completion of a Head & Neck Surgical Fellowship Program
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified
  • Qualified candidates must have an active and unrestricted license in Florida.
  • Experience preferred.
