Locums – Carmichael, California ENT Job

Schedule & Call

• Start Date: ASAP
• Monday–Friday: 8a–5p clinic
• Night Call: 5p–8a
  • Call is very light but physician must be available
• Call is mandatory
• No ER call required
  • Option to take ER call at certain locations

Position Overview

• General/comprehensive Otolaryngology position within a large multispecialty group
• Full-time ENT clinic and night call coverage
• Outpatient clinic associated with a community hospital
• FTE: 1.0
• Reason for Coverage: Physician left the group; ongoing recruitment for a permanent position
• Opportunity for the locums physician to transition to permanent if it is a good fit
• Two full-time ENTs currently practice at other sites within the group

Clinical Responsibilities

• Primarily outpatient ENT clinic
• See approximately 25–30 patients/day
• Option to perform bread-and-butter ENT surgeries for clinic patients
• May refer surgical patients to other ENTs within the group if preferred

Required Procedures

• Flexible laryngoscopy
• Sinus endoscopy
• Cerumen removal
• Otomicroscopy
• Diagnostic biopsies throughout the head and neck

Optional Procedures

• Comprehensive otolaryngology surgical capabilities

Support & Systems

• Support Staff: 1 full-time MA and 1 surgery scheduler
• EMR: Cerner PowerChart

Requirements

• Active California medical license required
• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Otolaryngology
