Job description
The Primary Care Physician provides comprehensive medical care to individuals and families, working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team. The role emphasizes preventive care, early diagnosis, and effective management of acute and chronic conditions. The physician is responsible for building long-term patient relationships, promoting overall wellness, and ensuring continuity of care. Additionally, the position involves coordinating with other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered, high-quality care across all stages of life.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver primary care services to patients across a specified population
Collaborate with nurse practitioners, clinical psychologists, and other healthcare professionals
Conduct physical examinations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning
Prescribe medications and appropriate treatment regimens
Refer patients to specialists and additional care services as needed
Coordinate patient care activities with nursing and support staff
Adhere to organizational policies, quality standards, and safety protocols
Participate in health promotion, education, and disease prevention initiatives
Monitor and document patient symptoms, progress, and treatment outcomes
Participate in on-call coverage as required
Educate patients on medication usage and non-pharmacological care options
Maintain infection control and safety standards
Develop and deliver educational sessions, workshops, or training programs
Mentor and support junior clinical staff or students
Contribute to a team-based approach to patient care
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine
Valid and current medical license to practice
ACLS or CPR/AED certification
Authorization to prescribe controlled substances (as applicable)
Eligibility for hospital and clinical privileges
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Skills
Proficiency in patient care management and treatment planning
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of preventive care and health promotion practices
