- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose eye conditions.
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids as needed.
- Provide treatment for common eye problems, such as dry eyes, allergies, and infections.
- Monitor and manage chronic eye diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and primary care physicians, for co-management of patients.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices, including the importance of regular eye exams and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of all diagnoses, treatments, and prescriptions.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies through continuing education and professional development.
