Working collaboratively with various disciplines, you will play a pivotal role in advocating for the physical and medical needs of our patients. This involves delivering treatment to a diverse adult patient population, including individuals with forensic, geriatric, and disability-related challenges. Your focus will be on fostering patient relationships and delivering patient-centered medical care, with the ultimate goal of facilitating a healthy transition back into the community for residents.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Directly oversee, evaluate, and administer primary medical assessments, diagnoses, and treatments, including prescribing necessary medications.
  • Conduct admission and physical examinations, and interpret laboratory tests.
  • Provide preventive maintenance care and devise treatment plans.
  • Review medical histories, diagnostic tests, medication regimens, and clinical diagnostic procedures.
  • Conduct daily rounds, assess and manage the onset of new medical issues.
  • Implement health prevention guidelines and coordinate referrals to specialized consultants within the team.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures, respond to emergency medical situations, and participate in mortality and morbidity reviews.

Physician Benefits:

  • Relocation assistance is available upon request.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage.
  • $5,000 annual allowance for Continuing Medical Education (CME).
  • State-provided employee representation and/or indemnification.
  • Up to $25,000 in tuition reimbursement for qualifying employees.
  • Immediate eligibility for benefits.
  • Deferred compensation program.
  • Optimal work/life balance with Monday to Friday shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Opportunities for on-site work three days a week may qualify for an additional 5% premium pay, in addition to the advertised salary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid license to practice medicine and surgery in the State of Washington or ability to obtain one.
  • Eligibility for certification from an American Board of Medical Specialties accredited program.
  • Prior experience in a mental health setting is desirable.
