## Orthopedic Surgery Nocturnist Opening | Duluth, MN Located in Duluth, Minnesota Full-Time, Permanent ## Practice Overview * Full-time Orthopedic Surgery Nocturnist opportunity in Duluth, Minnesota * Provide evening and overnight orthopedic call coverage at a Level I Trauma Center * Schedule consists of approximately 180 shifts per year, covering 4:00 PM–7:00 AM * Flexible scheduling options including: * Two weeks on / Two weeks off * One week on / One week off * Other mutually agreed-upon coverage models * Supported by: * 4 fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeons * 14 fellowship-trained orthopedic subspecialists in oncology, hand, foot & ankle, shoulder, adult reconstruction, and pediatric orthopedics * Dedicated Advanced Practice Provider team providing 24/7 call support * No spine call (covered by Neurosurgery) * No outpatient clinic responsibilities * No hospital rounding * No hospital code response requirements * Call may be taken from home * Manage orthopedic admissions and high-energy trauma patients in collaboration with the in-house trauma surgery team * Hip fracture admissions managed by the Hospitalist service * Anticipated operative volume of 0–2 surgical cases per shift * Practice at a 330-bed tertiary care hospital featuring: * Level I Trauma Center * Children's hospital * Helicopter transport program * Utilize EPIC electronic medical record * Regional service area of approximately 500,000 ## Compensation & Recruitment Package * Base salary: $622,119 * Additional earning potential through: * Performance bonuses * Quality incentives * Production-based compensation ## Job Qualifications * MD or DO * Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery * Minnesota medical license or eligibility ## Benefits * Comprehensive employed physician benefits package * Competitive base compensation * Performance and quality incentive opportunities * Flexible block scheduling * Home call model * Dedicated trauma, APP, hospitalist, and subspecialty support * EPIC electronic medical record ## Community Details Duluth is a vibrant city on the shores of Lake Superior, offering an exceptional quality of life with year-round outdoor recreation, excellent schools, and a thriving arts and dining scene.
