Job description
Coverage Need:
Full-time locum assignment for approximately 6 months while the facility recruits for a permanent orthopedic surgeon.
4 WEEKS PER MONTH
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
1-hour lunch (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
OR: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
Clinic: Tuesday and Friday
Approximately 10 days of shared call per month
Occasional coverage (1–2 days per month) at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, NH
Practice Details:
This is a true general orthopedic practice within a Critical Access Hospital serving a rural community. The position offers a balanced mix of clinic, surgery, and shared call with an established referral base and collaborative medical staff. This is not a Level I Trauma Center, resulting in a manageable case volume focused on bread-and-butter orthopedics.
Requirements:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency
Ability to obtain a New Hampshire medical license
BLS (American Heart Association) required
Ideal Experience:
Joint replacement experience is required (Hip, Knee, and Shoulder)
Experience treating common hand conditions such as trigger finger and carpal tunnel is preferred
Comfortable evaluating and consulting on spine and back pain is highly preferred

Additional Notes:
Rural practice with a predictable Monday–Friday schedule
Balanced mix of OR, clinic, and call responsibilities
