Facility:
This facility is a major regional medical center serving as a healthcare hub for 16 surrounding counties with a population of over 200,000. The hospital features a comprehensive orthopedic department with modern equipment, including medical imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services. With a daily hospital census of approximately 160 patients, this Level 3 Trauma center offers excellent support staff and teaching opportunities through internal medicine and family medicine residency programs.
Opportunity:
Board Certified - Orthopedic Surgeon
Job Details:
• Locum tenens coverage needed for specific blocks: March 13-24 and April 23-28, 2024 (must cover both blocks)
• Clinic hours Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
• 24-hour call coverage with follow-up clinic for patients
• Perform total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements
• Handle hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgical procedures
• Manage trauma injuries, fracture care, sports medicine, and other orthopedic disorders
• Responsibilities include rounding on post-op patients, inpatient/ED consults, and OR procedures
• Work with a team of 4 physicians and 7 advanced practice providers (supervision of APPs required)
• Well-supported practice with 1:1 nurse/provider ratio, 3 cast techs, reception staff, and surgery schedulers
• Each provider has access to 2 exam rooms and 3 cast rooms
• Appointment lengths range from 10-30 minutes depending on visit type
• Epic EMR system
• Teaching opportunities with IM and FM residency programs and PA student rotations
• Must be Board Certified (Board Eligible not accepted)
• Must have clean malpractice/background history
• Active Iowa license or Active IMLC required
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
