**Facility:**
This Level 3 Trauma facility is a hub hospital serving 16 surrounding counties with a population base of over 200,000 people. The orthopedic department features a robust infrastructure with dedicated exam and cast rooms, comprehensive medical imaging, and laboratory and pharmacy services on-site.
**Opportunity:**
Board Certified - Orthopedic Surgery
**Job Details:**
• Full-time locum tenens position with Monday-Friday clinic schedule, 8am-5pm • Responsible for 24-hour call coverage and follow-up clinic visits for patients • Inpatient responsibilities include rounding on post-op patients and managing inpatient/ED consults • Perform a variety of orthopedic procedures including total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements • Handle hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgical procedures • Provide trauma care, fracture management, sports medicine services • Work with a team of 4 physicians and 7 advanced practice providers • Supervision of APPs is expected • Well-supported practice with dedicated nursing staff, cast technicians, receptionists, and surgery schedulers • Average appointment length ranges from 10-30 minutes depending on visit type • EMR systems include GE Centricity (clinic) and Epic (hospital) • Teaching opportunities available with internal medicine and family medicine residency programs and PA student rotations • Must be board certified (not just board eligible) • Must maintain clean malpractice history • Active Iowa license or active IMLC required • Must be available for at least 2 weeks per month of coverage
