Location: A picturesque coastal city located in the southwestern part of Oregon offering a unique blend of natural beauty, maritime history, outdoor recreation, and cultural attractions, making it a popular destination to visit. Approximately 130 miles to Eugene!

Facility: Medical Center for Oregon’s South Coast, this hospital offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. The hospital’s inpatient and outpatient services include medical, surgical, pediatric, critical care, home health, outpatient and acute inpatient psychiatric, oncology, obstetrical, and other specialties.

Opportunity:
  • Full-time
  • Day Shift + On call TBD based on number of providers sharing the call
  • Ability to work weekends occasionally
  • In collaboration with the attending physician, prepares and records patient history, develops and implements a plan of care
  • Participates in daily rounds on assigned patients and documents the pertinent symptoms, findings, diagnoses and care plans.
  • Utilizes electronic medical record for order entry and documentation.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary rounding
  • Responds to coding and documentation queries and participates as requested in quality and safety initiatives.
  • Proficiency with the electronic health records for documentation, assessment, and care management, performing these activities concurrently with provision of care throughout the shift
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, family members and the healthcare team
  • Ability to work independently and perform effectively in stressful and/or emergent situations
  • Demonstrates initiative and motivation
  • Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary in order to deal effectively with various levels of Hospital personnel, outside customers and community groups
  • Understands of anatomy, diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, methods and equipment.
  • Ability to complete clinical and surgical responsibilities in a timely fashion
  • Analytical ability to monitor data, develop treatment plans and prescribe medication
  • Exercises good judgment, demonstrates effective critical thinking skills
  • Flexible, able to prioritize and address multiple responsibilities concurrently
  • Works effectively under stress and frequently changing job requirements/situations
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
  • PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
    - Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently

    - Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs
    - Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision
    - Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects
    - Able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of bed, chair or wheelchair
    - May be required to lift up to 75 pounds
    - Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids
    - Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
    - May require periodic use of personal computer
