Job description
A physician-owned orthopedic practice in Central Florida is seeking a highly skilled Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to provide specialized care at a Level II Trauma Center.
The ideal physician will have fellowship training and demonstrated expertise in orthopedic trauma, acute orthopedic surgery, and complex traumatic injuries.
The surgeon will work within a multidisciplinary environment alongside specialists in critical care, emergency medicine, neurosurgery, and orthopedic surgery.

Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for patients with traumatic orthopedic injuries.
Evaluate and manage complex orthopedic trauma cases in a Level II Trauma Center.
Perform urgent orthopedic procedures in high-acuity situations.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on injury severity and clinical needs.
Coordinate perioperative and postoperative care for trauma patients.
Trauma Call
Participate in a shared orthopedic trauma call rotation.
Provide trauma coverage during nights, weekends, and holidays as part of the rotating call schedule.
Respond effectively to urgent and high-acuity orthopedic cases.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Collaborate with critical care, emergency medicine, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, and other clinical teams.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, referring physicians, and multidisciplinary care teams.
Quality & Clinical Excellence
Participate in trauma quality improvement initiatives and registry activities.
Contribute to patient-safety programs supporting trauma center standards.
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete EMR documentation.
Maintain current knowledge of advances in orthopedic trauma and acute care.
Education
Participate in resident and medical student education when applicable to the clinical or academic setting.
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery with appropriate orthopedic trauma qualifications.
Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma preferred/required based on credentialing requirements.
Current Florida medical license or eligibility for Florida licensure.
Current ATLS certification.
ATLS Instructor certification preferred.
Strong clinical judgment and surgical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
Commitment to patient-centered care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Preferred Experience
2+ years of post-fellowship orthopedic trauma or acute care surgery experience.
Previous Level II Trauma Center experience.
Familiarity with trauma registries and trauma quality improvement programs.
Knowledge of American College of Surgeons (ACS) trauma verification processes.
Experience with quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
Experience teaching residents and medical students.
Working Hours
Shared trauma call coverage.
Nights, weekends, and holidays included as part of the call rotation.
High-acuity trauma environment requiring flexibility and responsiveness.
