Traumatologist

The University of Missouri Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking an additional Traumatologist to join our team at Cox Health in Springfield, Missouri. Our reputation for patient care, education and research has made us one of the fastest growing practices in the Midwest. We are anchored by the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) which is the largest and most comprehensive freestanding orthopaedic center in the region.

A few highlights include:

  • Join a team of 5 Orthopaedic Traumatologists. 110K ER visits per year with >3,000 trauma activations annually.
  • Enjoy perks of an academic center appointment at a large level 1 trauma hospital.
  • Call split of 1 out of 6 weekends, 1 day per week.
  • 13 dedicated orthopaedic trauma ORs per week. Protected OR time on weekends.
  • 24/7 first call coverage by team of 10 full time APCs, or resident.
  • Full time support/coverage from team of Trauma ACS surgeons.
  • Large volume of complex trauma cases including pelvis/acetabular cases, peri-articular fractures, periprosthetic fractures and care for the multiply injured patient.
  • Teaching opportunities with residents, orthopaedic trauma fellows, PA students and medical students.
  • Excellent rapport with other services (Trauma ACS, Vascular, Urology, etc).
CoxHealth

Founded in 1906, CoxHealth is a 6-hospital, not-for-profit hospital which is locally controlled by a board of directors. It serves a 25-county region of southwest Missouri and northeast Arkansas. Cox Medical Center South is the jewel of the Medical Mile. Located on the southern edge of Springfield, this full-service facility has been serving physicians and their patients since 1985. The growing campus includes many physician offices, a Level I Trauma Center, the Dee Ann White Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Jared Neuroscience Center and more.
