Job description
We are seeking a Spine-fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon for a locum tenens position in Charlotte, NC. This is a non-surgical clinic-based coverage opportunity focused on spine evaluations and interventional procedures, with no call required. Please see below for more information.
Job Responsibilities
Provide non-surgical spine evaluations and basic orthopedic workups
Perform epidurals, facet injections, cortisone injections, and joint injections
Work patients up for potential surgical referral (no surgery required, 99% non-surgical)
Provide fracture care as needed
Dispense local anesthetics (e.g., lidocaine) as needed (no Schedule II prescribing)
Utilize PACS imaging system and C-arm access for procedures
Care primarily for adult patient population
Work alongside PAs, NPs, a Physiatrist, a Pain Anesthesiologist, an RN, a sports medicine physician, and a foot & ankle specialist
Qualifications
Spine fellowship required
Active North Carolina state license
Active South Carolina state license
South Carolina DEA
Working Hours
Very flexible, up to 4 shifts per month
No call
Start Date: 6/15/2026 (ASAP)
Contract Length: Ongoing
Employment Type: Locum Tenens – 1099
