Med Ninjas is seeking a Hand Surgeon for locum coverage at an inpatient and emergency department facility located in Lakewood, Colorado.The Physician must be available for the scheduled coverage dates of November 8–12 and December 11–13, 2026. Additional ongoing dates will be released as schedules are made.
This assignment includes 24-hour call coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM, emergency department and transfer center calls, hand injury coverage, and weekend call responsibilities.
Locum Physician – Hand Surgery Lakewood, CO
Shift: 24-hour call, 7:00 AM–7:00 AM (4 gratis hours)
Start Date: November 8, 2026
End Date: Ongoing dates to be released as schedules are finalized
Position Details: Hand Surgery locum coverage
Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
Setting: Inpatient, emergency department, trauma call
Responsibilities: Cover emergency department and transfer center calls, typically related to hand injuries. Reimplantation is not performed at this site.
Required Procedures: Hand surgery and emergency hand injury management
EMR System: Epic
Support Staff: None
Days Per Month: Provider must specify ongoing monthly availability
On-Call/Weekends: 24-hour call required; weekend availability required
Schedule/Availability Requirements:
- All shifts end the following morning at 7a.
- Nov 8-12
- Dec 11-13
- Ongoing dates will be released as schedules are made.
Required Procedures and Skills
Hand surgery fellowship trainingEvaluation and management of emergency hand injuries
Coverage of emergency department and transfer center calls
Epic EMR experience
Requirements
Board-certified in Hand SurgeryActive CO Medical license or active IMLC
Completed Hand Surgery Fellowship
Active DEA highly preferred and required for credentialing
Clean malpractice and background history; self-inquiry NPDB report required
