Job description
an excellent Locum Orthopedic Surgeon (MD/DO) opportunity in Florence, Oregon. This assignment offers the opportunity to provide both inpatient and clinic-based orthopedic care while working independently in a supportive Critical Access Hospital.
Job Responsibilities
Provide inpatient consultations, admissions, rounding, and follow-up care.
Manage outpatient orthopedic clinic visits.
Perform orthopedic trauma procedures within the scope of privileges.
Participate in required night and weekend call coverage.
Care for both adult and pediatric patients.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR.
Practice independently while delivering high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
Active Oregon Medical License required at the time of presentation.
BLS Certification.
Recent Epic EMR experience (within the last 6 months).
Documentation of 100 orthopedic clinical cases performed within the previous 24 months.
Clean malpractice history is strongly preferred.
Working Hours
Location: Florence, Oregon
Assignment Duration: Through January 25, 2027
Orientation: September 17, 2026
Start Date: September 18, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Coverage: 8-hour clinic days with required night and weekend call
Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient (Hospital and Clinic Privileges Required)
Skills
Experience managing inpatient and outpatient orthopedic cases.
Proficiency in orthopedic trauma procedures.
Excellent surgical decision-making and patient management skills.
Ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency with Epic EMR documentation.
