Full-Time | Permanent | Ophthalmology - Retina & Vitreoretinal Surgery | Academic Opportunity
*Position Details*
* Join a rapidly growing academic medical center in Jacksonville, Florida
* Full-time Retina Specialist opportunity within a physician-led, multidisciplinary environment
* Provide specialized care for diseases and surgical conditions of the posterior segment
* Collaborate with multiple specialties on complex multidisciplinary cases
* Participate in clinical trials and implementation of clinical protocols
* Benefit from a highly integrated practice model with extensive clinical, research and educational infrastructure
* Strong emphasis on innovation, collaboration and academic medicine
* New ophthalmology residency program planned for 2028
* Vitreoretinal fellowship program planned to follow the residency program
*Clinical & Academic Responsibilities*
* Comprehensive vitreoretinal disease management and surgery
* Management of complex posterior segment conditions
* Collaboration with other specialties to provide multidisciplinary patient care
* Participation in clinical research and clinical trials
* Development and implementation of evidence-based clinical protocols
* Teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents and fellows
* Opportunities to contribute to basic science and clinical research
* Clinician-scientists are encouraged to pursue research interests
*Candidate Qualifications*
* MD or DO
* Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency
* Fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
* Eligible for medical licensure in Florida
* Strong interest in academic medicine, education and research
* Excellent clinical and collaborative skills
