Job description
An established multispecialty ophthalmology organization with over 25 years of experience is seeking an experienced Refractive & Cataract Surgeon to join its growing surgical team in Florida.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ophthalmologist focused on cataract surgery, refractive procedures, laser vision correction, and advanced lens technology.
The practice offers immediate surgical volume, strong clinical support, and a collaborative physician-optometrist care model. The incoming surgeon will play an important role in meeting existing patient demand while contributing to the continued expansion of a growing ophthalmology organization.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced surgeon who enjoys advanced surgical care, patient interaction, and building a successful refractive and cataract practice.
Job Responsibilities
Perform cataract and refractive procedures
Perform laser vision correction procedures when applicable
Evaluate patients and develop individualized surgical plans
Recommend appropriate lens technology and treatment options
Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care
Monitor surgical outcomes and optimize treatment plans
Educate patients regarding procedures, expectations, risks, and outcomes
Collaborate with:
Optometrists
Technicians
Nurses
Clinical support staff
Maintain accurate medical documentation
Stay current with advances in:
Refractive surgery
Cataract technology
Premium lenses
Vision correction techniques
Support continued practice growth and expansion
Qualifications
MD or DO degree
Completion of accredited Ophthalmology residency
Board Certification in Ophthalmology
Minimum 3 years post-training ophthalmology experience
Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain
Demonstrated cataract and/or refractive surgical experience
Strong surgical skills and clinical judgment
Excellent patient communication abilities
Ability to work collaboratively within an integrated MD/OD practice model
Preferred:
Fellowship training
Experience with:
LASIK
PRK
SMILE
Premium IOL technology
Advanced cataract surgery
Experience in high-volume surgical environments
Working Hours
Typical schedule:
Clinic hours approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Surgical days may begin earlier
No regularly scheduled evenings
No weekend shifts
No holiday shifts
Limited remote telephone/mobile call coverage
