An established Florida ophthalmology group is seeking an experienced Cataract & Refractive Surgeon to join its Tampa-area surgical team.
The practice offers an established patient base, immediate surgical volume, advanced refractive technology, and dedicated ophthalmic surgery infrastructure. The organization has been serving Florida patients for more than 25 years and operates multiple locations across the state.
What You’ll Do
- Perform cataract and refractive surgery
- Evaluate patients for surgical candidacy
- Develop individualized treatment plans
- Manage preoperative and postoperative care
- Recommend premium lens and vision-correction options
- Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmology colleagues
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation
- Support continued growth of the surgical service line
Procedures & Clinical Focus
Experience with the following is highly valued:
- Cataract surgery
- Refractive cataract surgery
- LASIK
- PRK
- EVO ICL
- Premium IOLs
- Advanced lens-based vision correction
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Completed Ophthalmology residency
- Board Certified in Ophthalmology
- Active Florida license or ability to obtain
- Strong cataract surgical experience
- Refractive surgery experience preferred
- Premium IOL experience preferred
- Strong patient communication and surgical judgment
Preferred background:
- Fellowship training in refractive surgery, cornea, anterior segment, or a related specialty
- 3+ years of post-training experience
This search is focused on an experienced surgeon rather than a new graduate.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Earlier starts on surgical days
- No regularly scheduled evenings
- No weekend shifts
- No holiday shifts
- Limited remote telephone/mobile call coverage
