Job description
An established, multispecialty ophthalmology organization with more than 25 years of experience is seeking an experienced Refractive and Cataract Surgeon to join its growing surgical team.
This opportunity offers immediate surgical volume, established patient demand, advanced technology, and strong clinical support within a collaborative MD/OD practice model.
The practice is seeking a surgeon with demonstrated expertise in cataract surgery, refractive cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and premium/advanced-technology lenses.
This opportunity is focused on cataract and refractive surgery rather than retina-focused care.
Job Responsibilities
Perform cataract, refractive cataract, and laser vision-correction procedures
Evaluate surgical candidates and develop individualized treatment plans
Recommend appropriate premium lenses and refractive technologies
Manage patients through preoperative and postoperative care
Monitor outcomes and modify treatment plans when clinically appropriate
Educate patients about treatment options, risks, expectations, and outcomes
Collaborate with optometrists, technicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals
Maintain accurate EMR documentation
Stay current with advances in cataract, refractive, laser, and lens technologies
Contribute to continued clinical growth and surgical expansion
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency
Board Certified in Ophthalmology
Fellowship training strongly preferred
Minimum 3 years of post-training ophthalmology experience
Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain one promptly
IMLC eligibility beneficial when applicable
Demonstrated cataract and/or refractive surgical experience
Experience with laser vision correction and premium IOL technology strongly preferred
Strong surgical skills and clinical judgment
Excellent patient communication skills
Commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence
Ability to collaborate effectively within an integrated MD/OD environment
Working Hours
Approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM clinic hours
Surgical days may begin around 6:30 AM
No regularly scheduled evenings
No weekend shifts
No holiday shifts
Limited remote telephone/mobile call coverage
