Job description
Seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Ophthalmologist to provide comprehensive medical and surgical eye care in Fairbanks, Alaska. This position offers a diverse practice that includes outpatient care, surgical services, and outreach clinics throughout Interior Alaska.
Position Highlights:
- Comprehensive ophthalmology examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and surgical care
- Perform procedures including cataract, glaucoma, refractive, corneal, vitreoretinal, oculoplastic, and other ophthalmic surgeries
- Perform laser procedures and oversee postoperative care
- Collaborate with Optometry, Eye Clinic, and other healthcare professionals
- Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment options
- Participate in rural outreach and village field clinics
- Opportunity to serve as Section Lead for Ophthalmology
- Practice across outpatient, ambulatory surgery, and outreach settings
- Meaningful opportunity to improve access to specialty eye care for underserved communities
Ideal Candidate:
Board Eligible or Board Certified Ophthalmologist with strong medical and surgical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to practice independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
