We are seeking a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist for an ongoing locum opportunity in Long Branch, New Jersey, beginning October 2026. This is a full-time outpatient position providing comprehensive Radiation Oncology care, including SBRT, IMRT, IGRT, 3D treatment, and potential brachytherapy coverage.

Assignment Details

  • Start Date: October 1, 2026
  • Ongoing locum assignment
  • Full-time coverage

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday
  • 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • 5 outpatient clinic days per week
  • Brachytherapy/OR procedures approximately 2–3 days per month
  • Evening and weekend call coverage may also be considered
  • Current call rotation is shared between 2 physicians, rotating approximately 1 month at a time

Practice Setting

  • Outpatient Radiation Oncology
  • Community hospital setting
  • Inpatient consultations as needed
  • No telehealth
  • Aria/Eclipse for radiation treatment
  • Epic for clinic visits

Patient Volume

  • Approximately 40 patients on active treatment across the department
  • Approximately 20–25 active treatment patients per physician
  • Approximately 8–10 new consultations per week per physician
  • Approximately 30 follow-up visits per week per physician

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Manage patients actively receiving radiation therapy
  • New Radiation Oncology consultations
  • Follow-up visits
  • Inpatient consultations as needed
  • SBRT
  • IMRT
  • IGRT
  • 3D radiation treatment
  • Brachytherapy/OR procedures as applicable
  • HDR brachytherapy may include skin, prostate, and Gynecologic Oncology cases

Brachytherapy

  • Brachytherapy experience preferred
  • Procedures occur approximately 2–3 days per month
  • HDR experience may include skin, prostate, and Gynecologic Oncology
  • Brachytherapy privileges are dependent on the physician's ability to be added to the applicable radioactive materials license

  • Accuray TomoTherapy
  • Elekta Versa HD

Support Staff

  • Registered Nurses
  • Radiation Therapists
  • Medical Physicists
  • Dosimetrists
  • 2 clerical support staff
  • Full Radiation Oncology treatment team

Requirements

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certification in Radiation Oncology required
  • Experience with SBRT, IMRT, IGRT, and 3D radiation treatment required
  • Must be comfortable independently managing patients actively receiving radiation treatment
  • Brachytherapy experience preferred
  • New Jersey license or IMLC

A Board Certified Radiation Oncologist with broad experience managing active treatment patients and proficiency in SBRT, IMRT, IGRT, and 3D radiation therapy. Brachytherapy experience is especially valuable for physicians who can obtain the necessary privileges.
