Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Radiation Oncologist for a full-time locum tenens opportunity at Essentia Health Duluth Clinic.
This assignment provides coverage for a physician medical leave in a well-established, collaborative Radiation Oncology program. Providers will join a highly experienced multidisciplinary team and work alongside other Radiation Oncologists in a modern cancer center equipped with advanced treatment technology.

Practice Highlights
- Outpatient Cancer Center
- 10–16 patients per physician per day
- Approximately:
- 2–3 new consults daily (four days per week)
- 3–5 CT simulations daily across the department
- 10–12 follow-up visits weekly
- Collaborative practice with multiple Radiation Oncologists
- Physicians are never expected to work independently
Job Responsibilities
Perform new consultations and follow-up visits
Develop treatment plans and approve radiation treatment plans
Review imaging studies and CT simulation orders
Participate in treatment planning and contouring
Collaborate with medical physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, and oncology nursing staff
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor conferences and peer review
Document patient care using Epic and ARIA
Qualifications
Fellowship training required
Active medical license (or ability to obtain)
Experience with modern radiation treatment planning systems
Strong collaborative and multidisciplinary practice skills
Comfortable working in a high-volume outpatient oncology environment
Working Hours
7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Full-time onsite assignment
October 1, 2026 – January 31, 2027
No routine call responsibilities
Typical weekly schedule includes:

Tuesday:
On-Treatment Visits (OTV)

Siemens Go Open Pro Large Bore CT Scanner
Respiratory Gating
Identify Motion Management System

Treatment techniques include:

3D Conformal Therapy
CT Simulation
Image Fusion
Electronic Portal Imaging (EPI)
Skills & Experience
