Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist – Albany & Troy, NY
Position Overview
A comprehensive cancer program in New York’s Capital Region is seeking a Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist to join an established physics team supporting two hospital-based cancer centers. This opportunity offers participation in advanced radiation therapy programs, a CAMPEP-accredited residency program, and collaboration with an experienced multidisciplinary oncology team.
Qualifications
* MS or PhD in Medical Physics or related field
* ABR Board Certified (or equivalent) preferred
* Candidates who have successfully completed ABR Part 2 will be considered
* Eligible for New York State professional licensure
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
* Experience with modern radiation oncology technologies and treatment planning systems
Position Highlights
* Join a team consisting of:
* Three Certified Medical Physicists
* Four Certified Medical Dosimetrists
* Physics Residency Program Director
* Two Medical Physics Residents
* Four Radiation Oncologists
* Support two hospital-based cancer centers located approximately 15 miles apart
* Approximately 75 patients treated daily across both locations
* Active stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) program
* Active stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) program
* Active gynecologic HDR brachytherapy program
