Locum Radiation Oncology Physician Opportunity – Alpena, MI
A leading cancer center in Alpena, Michigan is seeking a Radiation Oncology Physician for ongoing locum coverage due to the retirement of a full-time provider. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative oncology team in a primarily outpatient setting while enjoying a flexible three-day workweek.

Credentialing

Job Responsibilities
Cancer Center at a regional healthcare system
Contract / Locum Tenens
Coverage Need: Ongoing until permanent physician is hired
Start Date: May 26, 2026
Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday preferred, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Coverage Type: Clinic and weeknight call during onsite coverage days
Qualifications
MD or DO
Active Michigan license required
BLS certification required
Must demonstrate primary or consultative radiation oncology services for at least 25 patients within the past 12 months
Working Hours
99% outpatient / 1% inpatient consults
Responsibilities include:
Consultations
Follow-up visits
Weekly on-treatment visits
Participation in weekly tumor boards
Clinical Support & Systems
No APP support
EMR: EPIC
Dictation: Dragon
Skills
Experience with the following is required:
CT Simulation
IGRT
IMRT
VMAT
SBRT
SRS
