Job description
A comprehensive cancer center in Michigan is seeking a BC or BE Radiation Oncologist for locum tenens coverage.
Rate: $325.hr
Position Details
Specialty: Radiation Oncology
Practice Setting: Outpatient and inpatient services within a comprehensive cancer center attached to the hospital
Coverage Start: ASAP
Reason for Coverage: Full-time physician relocation; replacement search underway
Schedule
Monday–Friday
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
No call requirements
Practice Environment
This locum physician will join two full-time Radiation Oncologists, with additional support from two APPs. Other Radiation Oncologists will be present during the locum assignment.
Average outpatient clinic volume ranges from 30–50 patients per day. Inpatient rounding volume averages 2–5 patients per day. The patient population is adult only.
Documentation systems include Mosaiq and Epic.
Clinical Responsibilities and Required Procedures
Conventional radiotherapy
3D radiotherapy
SBRT and IMRT
External beam radiation therapy including 3D-CRT, IGRT, and IMRT
Helical tomotherapy
Stereotactic radiosurgery
Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)
Fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy
Required duties include ordering tests and imaging, prescribing, and providing comprehensive radiation oncology care.
Credentialing
Estimated credentialing timeframe is approximately 90 days.
Requirements
Board Certified in Radiation Oncology or Truly Board Eligible – required
Active Michigan medical license – required
BLS certification – required
