Board Certified/Board Eligible - Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist
Job Details:
• Part-time position working on-site 2 days/week (when full-time physicist is remote) plus additional half-day remote if needed (up to 20 hours) • Practice hours Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm • Coverage for others' sick and vacation time • Maintain and execute the Radiation Oncology Quality Assurance and Safety program for radiation therapy • Implement, manage and maintain all medical physics ancillary QA equipment • Coordinate with alternate physicist to ensure on-site coverage during clinic hours • Ensure all local/state/federal regulations and accreditation standards are met • Consult with Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and Therapists to ensure safe and effective treatment • Administer and maintain all software systems including treatment planning systems • Perform daily, monthly and annual quality assurance testing on all linear accelerators and equipment • Oversee dosimetrist work including plan reviews for each patient • Perform dosimetry functions in the absence of dosimetrist • Present at machine for all HyperArc/SBRT/SRS/SRT and high dose treatments • Responsible for commissioning and maintaining of HyperArc stereotactic machine model • Perform weekly patient chart reviews and maintain records • Oversee RTOG protocol participation and implementation of additional treatment certifications • Required: Master's degree in physics, biophysics, medical physics, radiological physics, nuclear engineering or health physics • Required: Minimum two years of clinical experience, either through previous work experience, or clinical Radiation Oncology Residency • Required: Eligible for American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification; if not currently certified, must obtain within 3 years • Required: Eligible for CRE certification through the state of Ohio
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
