Job description
Trinity Health Muskegon’s Johnson Family Cancer Center is seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Radiation Oncologists to provide full-time locum coverage beginning in 2026. This is an excellent long-term opportunity to join a collaborative oncology team providing high-quality, compassionate care on Michigan’s scenic western coast.
Assignment Overview

Location: Trinity Health Johnson Family Cancer Center – 1440 E Sherman Blvd #300, Muskegon, MI 49444

Practice Setting: Free-standing cancer center affiliated with a Level II Trauma hospital

Reason for Coverage: Physician turnover
-
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Call: Shared 1:2 rotation (24-hour call)

EMR: Aria & Epic
-
Support: 1 Nurse Practitioner, plus internal physician oversight and shared patient pool

Full-Time coverage beginning February 2026 (ongoing weekly schedule)
The facility aims to maintain continuous coverage, with two locums alternating weekly and collaborating with the on-site physician to manage approximately half of the patient volume each. From the client:"Our goal is to structure a schedule that has a locum’s doctor to cover every week. The Locums would share a pool (approx. half pt load) of patients and our internal Physician would cover the other half of the patient load, while overseeing the overall clinic and radiation plans."

Average Daily Volume: 10–15 outpatient consults

Inpatient Rounding: Minimal to none

Patient Population: Adult (hospital-based and outpatient)

Procedures Include:

Conventional Radiotherapy
-
3D Conformal Radiotherapy (3D-CRT)
-
IMRT / IGRT
-
Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
-
Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)

Fractionated Stereotactic Radiotherapy
-
Duties: Consults, treatment planning, on-treatment management, minor procedures, test and imaging orders, and prescribing.
Requirements
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology

Active Michigan License or IMLC LOQ – IPL can help with IMLC Licensure
-
BLS Certification – IPL can help with life-support certification
-
Must be available for 2-4 weeks per month, ongoing.

Recent experience with full radiation modalities preferred
Travel & Credentialing
-
Travel: Flight, hotel, rental car, and mileage reimbursed at the IRS standard rate

Credentialing: Expedited (Med Staff will credential by start date; payer enrollment ~120 days)

Start Date: December 2025 (part-time) → Full-time February 2026 (2 weeks per month split between 2 locums)
