Ballad Health is seeking a Board-Certified Radiation Oncologist to provide ongoing coverage at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. This is a well-supported, technology-forward cancer center that offers SRS, SBRT, IMRT, and 3D external beam radiation with a collaborative, multidisciplinary care team. Coverage begins November 25, 2025, and the assignment will run for approximately 3 months with the option to extend.

Work Environment

Practice Setting: Hospital-based Radiation Oncology

Average Daily Volume: Fewer than 25 patients per day

Patient Population: Adults (18+)

EMR Systems: Epic and Aria

Support Staff: Dedicated RN, Clinical Manager, 3 Full-Time Therapists, 1 PRN Therapist, Onsite Physics, Remote Dosimetry, plus nurse navigator, dietitian, social worker, and onsite Medical Oncology & Infusion Center

1 TrueBeam Linear Accelerator

Eclipse Planning System with SRS/SBRT, 3D, IMRT, and electron treatment

Software: Mobius, Radformation, .Decimal

External radiation for GYN; brachytherapy referred within the Ballad system

Requirements

Board Certification: Radiation Oncology (Required)

State License: Virginia (Required)

Certifications: BLS (Required), DEA (Required)- IPL can help with these.
