Facility in Williamsport,PA seeking RadOnc locums coverage
Opportunity Highlights

Consistent Schedule: Work Monday through Friday with a choice of 8a-4:30p, 7a-3:30p, or 7:30a-4p shifts. Call is required every other week, with simultaneous outpatient office coverage.

Solo Practice: You will work independently within the department but as part of a highly skilled team of support staff. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including consultations, follow-ups, and daily image reviews.

Manageable Workload: You will see an average of 2 new consults, 1 re-evaluation, and 2 follow-up patients per day. Tuesdays are dedicated to seeing all on-treatment patients.

Cutting-Edge Technology: The department is equipped with two linear accelerators, the Varian Trilogy and TrueBeam Edge, and a GE Lightspeed -16 slice-widebore CT scanner.

Diverse Procedures: You'll perform a wide range of advanced radiation therapy procedures, including IMRT, IGRT, DIBH, SBRT, and SRS. These techniques use sophisticated technology to deliver precise radiation doses to tumors while sparing healthy tissue.

Team Collaboration: You will collaborate with a second physician and a robust support team that includes physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, nurses, and administrative staff. You will also participate in weekly chart rounds and peer reviews.

Quick Privileging: The estimated time to secure full privileges is 30 days.
Responsibilities

Manage a full outpatient schedule, including new consults, re-evaluations, follow-ups, and daily on-treatment patient checks.

Conduct 2-3 simulations per day.

Provide on-call consultation for inpatients and respond to rare patient calls. The inpatient hospital is just 2.2 miles away.

Review daily images and participate in network peer review and chart rounds.

Perform advanced radiation therapy procedures, including IMRT, IGRT, and SBRT. The patient mix is 100% adult, with common cases being breast, lung, and prostate cancers.
Provider Requirements

Board Status: Board-Certified in Radiation Oncology is required.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience.

Licensure: An active Pennsylvania State License is highly preferred, but the facility will consider candidates who need to obtain a license.

DEA: A DEA license is required.

Commitment: Must be available for full-time, ongoing coverage for at least one year. You must be willing to take call in addition to your regular day shifts.

Local Preference: The client highly prefers local or drive-in candidates.
