Job Details:

• Medical Oncology locum coverage at a free-standing cancer center
  
• Coverage begins November 2nd and extends beyond January
  
• Clinic hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
  
• Weekend call rotation: Friday 4:30 PM through Monday 8:00 AM, every 5th or 6th weekend
  
• Call schedule is 1 week out of every 6-8 weeks
  
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients
  
• Practice breakdown: 65% benign hematology and 35% malignant oncology
  
• Average of 25 patients per day in outpatient setting and 20 patients per day in inpatient setting
  
• Outpatient and inpatient services are separate and will not be covered on the same day
  
• Inpatient coverage is a requirement; candidates unwilling to participate in inpatient coverage will not be considered
  
• Required duties include participation on a Tumor Board, management of Bone Marrow Transplants, Blood Bank oversight, ordering tests and images, and prescribing medications
  
• Chemotherapy administration is handled by a Nurse Oncologist
  
• Documentation system: EPIC
  
• Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology required
  
• Active SC license preferred; will accept providers who need to obtain licensure
  
• BLS and DEA required
  
• Candidates must be able to provide 2-4 weeks per month
  
• Travel reimbursement includes flight, hotel, rental car, and mileage billed at the IRS standard rate
