Job Title: Locum Physician - Oncology
Summary:
Join a dedicated team at an outpatient chemotherapy and infusion center in Redding, California. As a Medical Hematologist/Oncologist, you will be the solo provider offering outpatient chemotherapy and infusions. Support is provided by a mid-level provider to assist with patient flow and orders. Responsibilities include hospital consults with call, working directly with ER physicians or hospitalists for admissions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of diagnosis, staging, and treatment of hematology/oncology patients.
- Manage patient care in both the Oncology/Hematology clinic and Infusion Services.
- Ensure the Infusion Center operates effectively, offering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other vital treatments.
- Provide remote weekend call support from Friday 5 PM to Monday 8 AM.
- Consult with hospital staff as needed for admissions and patient care.
- Maintain EMRs using iKnowmed and Cerner.
- Collaborate with support staff including clinic RNs, MAs, and billing analysts.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Oncology or Hematology (REQUIRED)
- California Medical License (REQUIRED)
- Completion of fellowship program (REQUIRED)
- DEA Certification (REQUIRED)
- ACLS Certification (REQUIRED if requesting Moderate Sedation Privileges; PALS for pediatric patients)
- Must provide dates of availability (REQUIRED)
License and Certification Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology or Hematology
- CA Medical License
- DEA Certification
- ACLS Certification (if applicable)
