Part-Time Oncologist Opportunity - Brattleboro, Vermont Seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Oncologist to join the Oncology Department in Brattleboro, VT — providing comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care to individuals and families across southeastern Vermont. Position Details

  • Diagnosis, staging, and management of a wide range of cancers
  • Development of personalized treatment plans utilizing chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies
  • Monitoring and adjustment of treatment protocols and management of treatment-related side effects
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, radiologists, nurses, and support staff
  • Participation in clinical trials and research initiatives
  • Patient and family education on cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and side effects
  • Mentorship and guidance to oncology healthcare staff
  • FTE: 0.6 (24 hours/week) | Part-time
  • Hours: Vary | Weekend and holiday schedules: Rotating
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
Qualifications MD or equivalent degree from an accredited medical school Board certified or board eligible in Oncology Active and unrestricted Vermont state medical license Strong clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical concepts to patients and families Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with oncology research Facility Details Serving a rural population of approximately 55,000 people across 22 towns in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts The Oncology Department is an outpatient clinic open five days a week Department team includes a board-certified medical oncologist/hematologist, certified oncology nurses, a nurse practitioner/clinical nurse specialist, and a Breast and Oncology Nurse Navigator multispecialty group practice of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants committed to exceptional, compassionate care Community Details Nestled in the beautiful Green Mountains, Brattleboro is a progressive arts community offering: Vibrant, family-oriented downtown with coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, and bookstores Museum and arts center, food co-op, farmer's market, public library, and live music venues Outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, golf, biking, swimming, and boating Excellent public and private schools for families with school-age children Affordable quality of life with easy access to major New England cities
