We are seeking a Board Certified OB/GYN for an ongoing OB Hospitalist locum opportunity in Minnesota. This is a unique opportunity to practice in a high-acuity, MFM-supported environment with extensive subspecialty collaboration and strong physician support.

Assignment Details

  • Start: ASAP
  • Ongoing coverage
  • 24-hour in-house coverage
  • 12-hour shifts may also be accommodated

Schedule

  • 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
  • 12-hour shift options available
  • No block scheduling
  • Flexible scheduling based on provider availability

Practice Setting

  • Inpatient OB Hospitalist program
  • OB-only coverage
  • Predominantly high-risk obstetrics
  • Level II nursery
  • Epic (Excellian) EMR
  • Obix electronic fetal monitoring

Patient Volume

  • Approximately 11–12 deliveries per day
  • Coverage includes unassigned obstetric patients
  • More than 90% of the Maternal Placental Program census requires Maternal-Fetal Medicine involvement

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Labor and delivery management
  • High-risk obstetric care
  • Management of obstetric emergencies
  • Coverage for unassigned patients
  • Assistance with cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
  • Collaboration with MFM and ICU teams for complex cases

Support Staff

  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists available 24/7
  • In-house MFM coverage during the day
  • Overnight MFM call coverage
  • Additional in-house OB/GYN support
  • Certified Nurse Midwife support
  • No resident supervision

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • BLS certification
  • Minnesota license preferred
  • IMLC accepted
  • Trauma Level I or II experience required
  • Physicians must be comfortable managing high-acuity obstetric patients

Credentialing

  • Standard credentialing: 90–120 days
  • Emergency temporary privileges may be available for clean files
