Healthcare system in outdoor Maine paradise seeks BC/BE OBGYN.

  • The successful candidate will join two OB/GYN’s, and two Certified Nurse Midwives in providing compassionate, high-quality care to obstetrical and gynecological patients drawn from multiple communities.
  • Status: Full-time: 40 – 45 hours/week, including operating room time
  • Patients: Community profile includes a sizeable population of women for whom gynecological surgical procedures and urodynamic testing are becoming increasingly important.
  • On-Call Rotation – 1:3
  • The leader of deliveries, north of Bangor Maine, with over 200 deliveries annually
  • High-risk mothers and neonates are referred for delivery to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
  • The Women’s & Children’s Health Center is located downstairs from the Medical Center, providing inside access within minutes to the labor/delivery/postpartum unit of the hospital.
  • The OB unit and team are award winning and have a well-earned reputation as the warmest, friendliest and most desirable place to deliver babies north of Bangor. For the 5th year, it earned the 2018 Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience.
  • Specialists available in include urology, orthopedic and general surgery, and ophthalmology.
  • Access to Medical Center outpatient clinics including diabetes counseling and nutritional therapy


Group is a physician practice management organization with 40 physicians and 20 mid-level providers. In the fall of 2007, the practice was designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center, providing enhanced access to health care services for all members of the community, and allowing the practice to employ providers holding H-1B and J-1 visas.

For over 38 years the system has provided care to a service area population numbering about 35,000 people. Its has a dedicated, volunteer Board of Directors and a strong, supportive relationship with the Medical Center. It has received recognition as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). PCMH is a comprehensive, coordinated team-based approach that enables patients to take an active role in their health status and decision making. This innovative model puts patients at the center of care as their primary care practitioner leads an interdisciplinary team of health care professionals to treat all aspects of the patient’s health.
