Locums | OB/GYN Laborist | Modesto, CA (active CA license required)
Why This Role
Twelve- and twenty-four-hour shifts
Hospital-based laborist program
Inpatient-only coverage
No APP supervision or teaching
Assignment Details
Dates: As soon as credentialed–February 1, 2027; start feasibility to be confirmed
Schedule: 12- and 24-hour shifts; specific dates and handoff times pending
Coverage type: Inpatient laborist/call coverage
Call: Beeper listed, 1:4 rotation; seven-minute response requirement
Call activity: 25% callback listed
Volume: Approximately 10–15 patients per shift
Setting: Inpatient OB/GYN; assigned and unassigned patients
Admissions: Required
Support: Two MAs and office staff listed; inpatient staffing to be confirmed
EMR: Cerner
Credentialing: Approximately 90 days
Clinical Details
Required: Low-risk pregnancy care, fetal heart rate interpretation, and screening OB ultrasound performance/interpretation
Required: Vaginal and low-forceps deliveries, C-sections, breech deliveries, and management of abruptions
Required: Third- and fourth-degree laceration repair
Required: Minor gynecologic procedures and open/laparoscopic gynecologic surgery
Preferred: High-risk pregnancy care, multiple births, and targeted/anatomic ultrasound
VBACs and amniocentesis not required
No APP supervision or resident teaching required
Requirements
BC in OB/GYN
Active California medical license
BLS and PALS
Ability to perform the required obstetric and gynecologic procedures
Availability for 12- and/or 24-hour shifts
