Assignment Details
Dates: December 17–24 and December 31
Schedule: 24-hour call, 7 a.m.–7 a.m., plus clinic; listed call ratio 1:4
Coverage type: Hospital/call and clinic coverage
Volume: Approximately 20 scheduled clinic patients; 2–3 nursery admissions daily
Call activity: Reported average of fewer than one callback per 24-hour shift; answering-service calls expected
Setting: OB/GYN practice with 9 labor and delivery beds and 20 postpartum beds
Support: Four-physician practice, OB hospitalist, surgical assistants, and 3–4 nurses per shift
EMR: Epic
Credentialing: 60–90 days
Clinical Details
Required scope: Vaginal deliveries, C-sections, suction D&C, and management of ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding
MFM manages most high-risk patients
Laborist manages unreferred inpatient deliveries and rounding
Requirements
ABOG board certification required
Active Virginia medical license
Active Virginia DEA and CSR
BLS and ACLS
Ability to cover call and all listed dates
Procedure logs documenting at least 50 deliveries in the last 12 months, including at least 15 C-sections
