Locums | OB/GYN | Petersburg, VA (Active VA license required) Why This Role

  • Temporary privileges possible for clean files
Assignment Details Dates: December 17–24 and December 31, 2026 Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, 7a–7a, plus clinic Coverage type: Clinic + Call Call ratio: 1:4 Callback volume: Less than 1 per 24-hour shift on average Clinic volume: Approximately 20 scheduled patients Setting: Hospital-based OB/GYN and outpatient clinic Labor & Delivery: 9 beds Postpartum: 20 beds Nursery admissions: Approximately 2–3/day Support: 4 physicians, OB hospitalist, surgical assistants, and 3–4 nurses per shift EMR: Epic Credentialing: 60–90 days; temporary privileges possible Clinical Details Labor and delivery management Vaginal deliveries and C-sections Obstetric and gynecologic emergency evaluations Suction D&C Ectopic pregnancy management Ovarian torsion management Evaluation and treatment of abnormal bleeding Outpatient OB/GYN clinic coverage MFM support for most high-risk patients OB hospitalist coverage for unreferred patients Requirements Board Certified in OB/GYN (ABOG) Active Virginia medical license required Active Virginia DEA and CSR required BLS required ACLS listed; confirm facility requirement Proficiency in vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and emergency OB/GYN procedures Recent experience with at least 50 deliveries, including 15 C-sections, within the past 12 months Ability to provide 24-hour call coverage Availability for requested December dates Compensation Rate caps apply per facility Malpractice provided Travel and lodging reimbursed
