Locums | OB/GYN | Fredericksburg, VA (VA or IMLC) Why This Role

  • 4 OB/GYN physicians needed for ongoing coverage
  • In-house call only with no scheduled outpatient clinic
  • Established obstetrics program with approximately 1,700 deliveries annually
  • Strong clinical support with RNs and APPs
  • Temporary privileges available
Assignment Details Start/end: ASAP – ongoing Schedule: In-house call; specific shifts and dates TBD Coverage type: Call Only Setting: Inpatient OB/GYN Patient volume: Approximately 16–20 patients/shift Annual deliveries: Approximately 1,700 Department beds: 16 Responsibilities: Inpatient admissions, rounding, and obstetric coverage Rounding: Assigned patients Support: 5 RNs and 2 APPs EMR: Epic Credentialing: Approximately 90 days; temporary privileges available Clinical Details Low- and high-risk pregnancy management Fetal heart rate interpretation, including NST/CST/FSE Routine vaginal deliveries Low-forceps deliveries C-section decision-making and operative deliveries Management of complicated deliveries, including breech and multiple births Management of placental abruptions and VBACs Repair of 3rd- and 4th-degree lacerations preferred Inpatient admissions and obstetric rounding No gynecologic surgery required No OB ultrasound procedures required Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN Active Virginia medical license or IMLC eligibility BLS required Experience managing low- and high-risk obstetric patients Proficiency in vaginal, operative, and complicated deliveries Ability to provide in-house obstetric call coverage Compensation Rate negotiable, open to your number Malpractice provided Travel and lodging reimbursed
