Job description
Locums OB Hospitalist coverage in North Carolina with call only scheduling and a mix of inpatient OB and outpatient gynecology. Coverage includes both low and high risk obstetrics with surgical capability.
Highlights
- Call only coverage, beeper call with 30 minute response expectation
- Ongoing need due to long term permanent search
- Mix of inpatient and outpatient work, includes OB and in office GYN
- Supported by hospital staff RNs and MAs, plus CNM support
Practice Setting
- Mixed inpatient and outpatient OB and GYN practice
- Adult patient population
- Approximate annual delivery volume, 150 deliveries per year
- In hospital volume noted at 4 to 6 patients
Schedule
- Call only coverage, scheduled as 24 hour call blocks
- Beeper call for both OB and GYN, 30 minute response time
- Typical call activity, 0 to 5 call backs, 0 to 3 phone consults
- Admissions listed at 4
Cases and Procedures
- Low and high risk pregnancies, vaginal deliveries and complicated deliveries
- C sections, including breech, multiples, abruptions, VBACs
- 3rd and 4th degree laceration repairs
- In office gynecology, open and laparoscopic surgical procedures
Requirements
- Must be an MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- North Carolina license required, will not wait for license
- ACLS required
